Ceramic pads work fine on cross drill slotted rotors. Metallic pads will work just as well, up to a point. Ceramic pads tend to last longer than metallic pads and score the rotors less. Under extreme braking conditions, a ceramic pad will dissipate heat and cool down faster than a metallic pad.

Slotted brake rotors are popular with performance car drivers because the type of driving they. do puts a lot of stress on the rotors. As we mentioned on the previous page, drilled rotors have been weakened, which makes them prone to cracking around the holes, particularly when they've been repeatedly driven hard.

Our rotors are offered in a variety of different designs and coatings to best suit each car or truck enthusiasts needs.
There are many different types of brake rotors to choose from.
Before you can purchase a set of fresh rotors, you need to understand the pros and cons of each design.
Here is where we will help you decide which option best fits your needs.
Drilled and slotted rotors Drilled and slotted rotors provide the looks and functionality of both cross-drilled rotors and slotted rotors combined.
Drilled and slotted rotors are not recommended for track use due to the abuse they will take.
The drilled holes in the rotors will be prone to stress-cracking, The combination of the drilled and slotted pattern does work great with heavier vehicles, especially vehicles that will be towing heavy loads.
Since heavier vehicles create more heat in the braking system, brake pads drilled and slotted rotors drilled and slotted rotors will help provide the best stopping power by keeping the rotors and pads the coolest.
By keeping the braking system cool with the drilled holes, and by pushing the gasses and brake pad dust away from the rotor with the slots, this will provide the best bite to stop any vehicle.
Drilled and Slotted Rotors utilize both Slotting and Cross Drilling technologies to improve on brake pads drilled and slotted rotors performance.
Holes are Drilled across the brake surface of the rotor to improve on heat dissipation.
The slots increase bite and constantly swipe the brake pads clean.
Both help reduce fade expel gasses and water.
When the brake pads and the brake rotors make contact, the friction between them creates a layer of gas and brake dust which pushes the brake pad away from the rotor.
The slots on the face of the rotor help to move those gasses and brake dust away, causing a much better bite for optimum stopping power.
Slotted rotors are the preferred pattern for track cars as there is no risk of cracking due to heavy braking.
The slots on the rotor is also one of the best ways to combat brake fade and maintain consistent stopping power.
Cross drilled rotors Cross Drilled brake rotors brake pads drilled and slotted rotors some of the best looking designs on the market.
The way they look behind a nice set of wheels is undeniably a great look.
Not only do they look amazing, but they are the best at keeping the brake rotors and pads as cool as possible by providing optimum brake pads drilled and slotted rotors of through the drilled holes.
Just as with the Drilled and Slotted rotors, these rotors are not meant to be used during track use as they are prone to stress cracking, ultimately leading to failure.
more info rotors are great for any standard street vehicle wanting a great look and an improved bite while stopping.
Keeping it Cool Cross Drilled rotors keep the surface temperature down which nearly eliminates heat checking and warping.
Performance Brake Rotors vs.
Stock Brake Rotors The question we go here asked the most is whats the benefit of Performance Brake Rotors over the stock plain brake rotors.
Well the answer is simple.
When the Brake Rotor and the Brake Pads make contact, a gas is created which builds up between the two components.
This gas pushes the brake pad away from the rotor, making both components work harder to stop the brake pads drilled and slotted rotors />By adding the to the face of the rotor, this allows the gasses to escape, keeping both the and Brake Rotors cooler and increasing stopping power.
Secondly, the Slots, serve as an escape for the brake dust and water from the road, keeping the wheels cleaner.
Ceramic Pads So what exactly is the difference between and?
Semi-Metallic Brake Pads are performance for most of the vehicles on the road today, including Compact, Mid-range and Heavy Duty cars, Trucks and SUV's.
The use of Semi-Metallic Brake Pads continue reading highly recommended for Towing, Work Trucks and Sports more info />The performance of Semi-Metallic pads is immediate and are great for high heat applications and keep your breaking noise free.
Ceramic Brake Pads are ideal for Compact and Mid-Range cars and brake pads drilled and slotted rotors duty Trucks and SUV's.
They are highly not antikythera mechanism pin and slot for any type of heavy applications such as towing or work trucks.
Ceramic Pads are designed to wear longer and provide very little brake dust brake pads drilled and slotted rotors keeps those wheels looking clean.

In addition, a cross-drilled rotor now has more surface area, and thus cools down more quickly.
Each hole is countersunk for a smooth linear transition at the edge.
To reduce the stress and prevent cracking, the holes are also uniquely chamfered to the minimum thickness for exceptional rotor life.
Double disc ground with a taper-free finish ensures parallelism, provides near perfect disc thickness variation, eliminates runout and provides more effective pad and rotor break in.

I’ve done track days where I had factory calipers with high end plain rotors and pads and a number of other people (with the same model car and similar power) had fancy Brembo calipers and slotted and/or drilled rotors and mid level pads and I could out brake them all day. i could out brake them all day with practically zero fade.

We'll discuss the drilled rotors here and move on to the slotted rotors on the next page.
Drilled brake rotors, as the name implies, have holes drilled in them.
Having a holes drilled into any of your brake parts may seem counterintuitive, especially the brake rotors -- after all, a rotor full of holes means that there's less surface area for the brake pads to grab and stop the car -- but there are a few reasons drilled rotors make sense.
The first is heat.
When the brake pad grabs the rotor, it creates friction, which creates heat.
If that heat can't escape, it leads to brake fade, which reduces the brakes' stopping power.
The second reason is gas build up.
This actually isn't much of a problem any more; however, the materials used in some older types of brake pads caused gas to build up between the rotors and pads.
That gas also limited stopping power.
The last reason is water.
If a car drives through a puddle, a carwash or even a rainstorm, the brake rotors can get wet.
Having drilled holes on a brake rotor makes it easy for heat, gas and water to be quickly moved away from the rotor surface, keeping the brake performance strong.
The downside of using drilled rotors on your vehicle is that all of those holes tend to weaken the rotors -- just like punching holes in brake pads drilled and slotted rotors wall of a house would weaken the wall.
After repeated stressful driving, the rotors can even crack.
But what if you're into driving performance?
Are drilled rotors right for you, or should you consider another kind of brake part for your spirited driving?
Keep reading to find out.

I am very pleases with this brake system from the way it was packaged to how these brake pads perform.
The price was phenomenal just click for source what i got.
I went to auto zone and almost bought crappy brake pads and thin rotors.
These came and i was blown away by the thickness of the rotors and and the quality of the pads not to mention these are slotted and drilled.
Thank you for another great buy AMAZON prime.
Fit my wife's Honda Element perfectly, installed easily, works fine.
The slots and holes do make a little buzzing noise when she brakes, but not loud enough to be annoying.
Following comments are not specific to this brake pads drilled and slotted rotors, but more about Honda's brake design.
This was probably the easiest brake and rotor job I've ever done.
The rotor is held captive by the lug studs, so it doesn't have any extra fasteners of its own.
The caliper is held in a sort of clip that makes it VERY easy to remove also.
The downside of the rotor design is that lug nut torque becomes critical.
In fact, I had to do this job because a shop mistorqued the lug nuts after replacing the tires.
This mis-torquing caused the rotor to warp.
I APPRECIATE POWER HAVING AN ECONOMICAL OPTION that new bingo slots brake the bank and PRODUCT is well made and does the job very well.
Well made and looks great on the Tahoe!
Be sure to follow the recommended break in procedure.
I did and following these stopped perfect.
This is my wife's car and she is tuff brake pads drilled and slotted rotors breaks, hasn't faded yet and so far have about 3 weeks on them and I am sure she's jammed them quite a few times already.
Everything you need is in the box, incl the disk hardware kit to replace the retaining clips.
My lifted Chevy Silverado was always lacking stopping power due to bigger heavier tires.
These brakes and rotors work great.
Installed them myself with no problems.
Was so happy that these worked so good I bought the same kit for a different vehicle.
Will buy again in the future!
They arent dimpled but drilled rotors, better grip than the stock, fits perfectly with my 2013 tacoma.
Fast shipping, straight forward installation.
This complete set is a really nice price and it looks good.
The brakes stop really well, but for my first time putting brakes and rotors on there should have been directions brake pads drilled and slotted rotors which pads and rotors goes to what side.
They fit well, look great, are solid, and delivery fast and trouble free - not sure what the other guy was saying about it not looking like that - no pretty power sport box I guess?
The stuff that matters was all right there and customer service answered any fitment questions right away.
All in all, very happy.
Direct fit, easy install, quiet when braking.
Hopefully these will keep the heat down on my wife's Traverse so the rotors won't warp before the pads are end of life.
Plenty of pad left but front end shake from the warped rotors.
Got about 50000 out of the OEM rotors.
Still early to rate the product, as I only have a few hundred miles on the new Power Sport Rotors and Pads.
But--so far they're working great and Brake pads drilled and slotted rotors have no reluctance in recommending them.
Great value and fit perfectly.
Bought these with a little bit of hesitation due to price and uncertainty of fit and how well they work.
But, I am so glad I did.
These work way better than I hoped and look great too.
I have recommended them to all of my friends.

The now common ceramic based pads do not produce the outgassing problem in any conceivable street use, so there is no real function-based reason to use drilled rotors. Slotted rotors may still be useful in their ability to remove pad glazing but consequently produce faster pad wear.
